Sources and AI use

How we use AI, plainly
Kasba stories are drafted with AI from official sources. A large language model writes the first draft; at present that is DeepSeek’s model, and we will update this page if we change it. The model is given only the official notice and asked to write from it.
Routine notices (scheme rules, exam dates, results, deadlines, rates) from PIB, RBI, SEBI, CBSE, NTA and the UP Board are published automatically once the draft passes our checks: the notice must be machine-readable text (not a scan), and the model must mark it as routine. The editor is told at once and reviews these stories after publishing; anything wrong is corrected or taken down. These stories say so at the bottom.
Everything else needs an editor’s approval before it is published: anything touching crime, courts, police, elections, politics, religion or caste, protests, health scares or allegations; every “from the record” story; every story read from a scanned document; and every story from other sources. The editor compares the draft with the original notice and edits it where needed.
Headlines from local papers
District pages and the home page show the latest headlines from local newspapers (Amar Ujala, Dainik Bhaskar), taken from the papers’ own public RSS feeds. Kasba shows only the headline, the paper’s name and a link to the paper’s own page. We do not copy, rewrite or check these stories, and they are not Kasba stories.
Sources
| Source | Covers |
|---|---|
| Press Information Bureau (PIB) | All central government ministries |
| Reserve Bank of India (RBI) | Banks, money, interest rates |
| SEBI | Notices for investors |
| CBSE, NTA, UP Board of Secondary Education | Exams, results and admissions |
| UP Information and Public Relations Department | State government announcements |
| Supreme Court (judgments and press releases) | “From the record” stories |
| Other government websites (gov.in, nic.in) | Official links sent in by the editor |
Every story names its primary source and date and links to it. Government material is used with credit under each publisher’s own terms. A newspaper that does not want its headlines shown can write to [email protected] and we will remove them.
